An Ugly Emotion
Jealousy is an ugly emotion, it causes all kinds of other things to develop that wouldn't otherwise, self-dislike, dislike of another person or thing, greed, lust, gluttony, pride, wrath, it envokes all of the other seven deadly sins, where as usually, one sin envokes only that sin, but worst of all jealousy can even cause hate... however this is not about jealousy that causes hate, it's about jealousy that's just plain stupid

"Thanks again Ichigo~!" Rukia said happily as the two walked down the street, he shrugged lightly and smiled when she leaned up and kissed him on the cheek, now what could it be that made Rukia so unusually happy? A puppy; Ichigo had finally caved and gotten Rukia a puppy, well to be perfectly honest he got two puppies only because they couldn't decide on wich one, he figured that it was about time to get a dog, not only so she would stop nagging him but also because they would be having a baby sometime soon and if there was one thing Ichigo knew about kids it was that as soon as they were old enough to speak they'd start asking for a dog, getting one now would just save him the trouble later, and plus, there was no telling how long this great mood of Rukia's would last and he was hoping it'd be a wile...

"You're so cute, yes you are, you're such little babies!" These were not the words that usually came out of Rukia's mouth, that being said, Ichigo HAD to investigate, "Rukia?" he asked, walking out of the kitchen and seeing her laying on the floor playing with the dogs, there she as rolling around, kissing on them and blowing raspberries and all around acting like a six-year-old.... and Ichigo started to feel slightly cheated, she never rolled on the floor and kissed him like that.... ok well.... not in the playfull way she was with the puppies, she most certainly never blew raspberries to him, and she never acted like a six-year-old, what did puppies have that he didn't have? Why did she already love them more than she loved him? She had only knowen them for a few hours! She was MARRIED to him! "Ichigo you have to see this!" she laughed, sitting on her nees, she held her hand up, acting like she was holding something, then bent her arm back and pretended to throw what she was pretending to hold, the puppies turned around and she giggled and they looked back at her, "They're so smart! They knew I didn't throw anything! Oooh you're just the smartest little babies on earth aren't you?!" she giggled, she never called HIM smart.... he sighed, "I'm going to go make lunch...." he muttered, she smiled, "Ok, make sure whatever you make is suitable for the puppies, it IS their first meal at home," "Yeah yeah..."

"Dinner!!" Rukia shouted, the two puppies and Ichigo came running into the kitchen, full-speed ahead, "Here it is my loves," she cooed, putting two bowls on the floor for the puppies and setting a bowl down on the table next to her juicebox for herself, "What about me?" Ichigo asked excitedly, she laughed lightly, "What ABOUT you? Can't you get it yourself?" she asked with a smirk, he sighed and stared down at the puppies, then over at the spaggethi pot, "I guess..." he muttered with a huff

That was only the start of it, that night Rukia CUDDLED with the puppies too, wile poor Ichigo was forced to sleep on the outskirts of the bed, and as if that wasn't bad enough... the next day was much, much worse...

"Hey Ichigo! Rukia! What's up?" Renji asked as he arrived at the door to the Kurosaki house, "Nothing much... why do you have a dog with you Renji?" Ichigo replied with an exasperated sigh, "Oh, well I heard you two were looking for one so I found this little fella out in Rukon and thought you guys might like 'im," he replied setting the little black puppy inside the house, "Renji we just got two dogs! Why woul-" "Ooooh a puppy!" he heard, Ichigo sighed, he knew he was done for as far as this dog was concerned...

Ichigo had always loved dogs, especially puppies, but as of right now, he was quickly turning into a cat person, cats weren't so needy and.... and ... irresistable like puppies were... he was sure cats would have SHARED Rukia's attention with him... puppies were just a bunch of gluttons... he was definately frustrated since Rukia was SUPPOSED to be watching TV with him, like they did EVERY Saturday night at this time, but she was taking the dogs out trying to papper train them... the little .... CREATURES... had left him a little gift in his shoes this morning.... as he chomped down on a potato chip he continued to watch the TV in anger and jealousy, Rukia had been ALL HIS, and don't get him wrong, he wasn't NEEDY or anything and he was fine spending time to himself or letting Rukia spend time with others... but those PUPPIES were taking up ALL of Rukia's time.... ALL of it..... wasn't it bad enough that he had had to go without her for weeks, one time nearly TWO YEARS at a time without her? Now that they were FINALLY together for good couldn't he just have some peacefull time with her?! He heard a slight wimper and glared down at the black puppy that Renji brought who they, or rather Rukia, had named Spooky because he "reminded her of a dog she saw once in a Halloween movie", Spooky indeed.... Horror or Holy Terror SHOULD have been his name... "What?" Ichigo grumbled, Spooky stood up on his hind legs and put his front paws on the couch, wimpering once again, Ichigo looked at the dog, then at his bowl of chips, then back at the dog, "You stole my wife and now you want my chips too?" the dog stared at him for a moment and then suddenly got down, leaving the room, Ichigo raised his eyebrows, 'Does he know I'm mad? .... Maybe I'm being a little too harsh..... it isn't their fault..... it's RENJI'S....' he thought, looking around the corner and seeing the little dog bound back towards him with a stuffed teddy bear Rukia had bought as one of the many, many, toys for the dogs, the little puppy dropped the bear at Ichigo's feet and barked once, "You want to trade me? I don't want that..." he muttered, the puppy stared at him again with those big, chocolate brown eyes and before he knew it.... he was sharing half his bowl of chips with the "menace"....

Rukia sighed but couldn't help but to smile lightly as she looked on at the scene before her in the living room, there was Ichigo curled up on the couch with the dogs, the puppies all asleep and Ichigo leaned back on the couch, "Hey," he said quietly, she smiled, "Where's the remote? It's time for our favirote show," she wispered, sitting next time and leaning against his shoulder, so Ichigo figured, maybe jealousy wasn't needed after all...
