Ichigo sighed lightly and closed his eyes for a moment, things had been difficult before Rukia's arrival, he was always teased and bullied because of his odd hair and bad attitude, but now that Rukia was in his life and he had something to live for, someone to care about, someone to protect even more than everyone else... things were worse....

"Yo Kurosaki, how'd you get such a cute girl to go out with ya'?" Ichigo sighed as he walked down the hall, "Shut up Yuchia..." "No I'm serious, how much did ya' have to pay 'er?" "I SAID SHUT. UP. Yuchia..." "Oooooohhhhhh!!!! I get it!! She's real dumb right? SO you offered to do her work for her right?" the big man laughed, just as Ichigo was about to turn around and slug him.. "Excuse me, but that assumption is QUITE wrong," they both turned around and there in the flesh stood 73 pounds of pure, unbridled anger, Ichigo gulped, "So wat is it Cutie? How'd this looser get you to go out with him?" "Well, that 'looser', as you so adequatly put it, just happens to be a better man than you are, so you figure it out," "Wat did you say Pipsqweak?" she cocked an eyebrow, "Wat? Can't hear? Maybe that'll go with your sore butt," "Huh? My bu- YEEEEEEE!!!!" he screamed as she litterally kicked him in the butt then need him in the stomach so that he was doubled over, "Want to say something else digrading? Or shall I start cracking bones?" the guy stood up and screamed as he ran down the hall, "She's worse than Arisawa!!!!!" Rukia huffed and turned back around to Ichigo, having to stand on the very tips of her toes to run her fingers through his hair, "No one will talk to you like that again once I'm threw with them," she promised with a wink, heading off to class, he gulped and leaned against the wall, "Man am I glad she's on my side...." he muttered as sweat trickled down his skin

"Ichigo are you ok?" Rukia asked as the bell rang and he collected his books, "I'm fine," he muttered, "Don't let wat that stupid bully said get to you alright? I'm with you because I love you," "I'm not letting it get to me.. I'm just a little concerned about you..." "ME?" "Yeah... do you always stand up for yourself like that? And other people?" "Yeah, why?" "Has it always gone well like that?" she snorted, "Yeah sure, and I'm really a panda in a suit, OFCOURSE not! I can't begin to tell you how many times I've gotten slugged for mouthing off, one time this guy six sizes bigger than me popped me right in the eye and I made sure he was never able to procreate in return," she chuckled, he frowned, "That isn't funny Rukia! He could have seriously hurt you!" "Don't worry, it was a long time ago wen I was a little girl," "That's WHY I'm worried.." he muttered, "Didn't anyone else ever stand up for you?" "Renji occasionally, Kaien-Sir wen he needed to, it's mostly been a one-woman-show though, why?" "No reason..." he muttered as they walked, now he felt even worse... he was supposed to be diffrent than everyone else, he was supposed to show her that she could trust him to take care of things like that for her, but it turns out he's just the same as every other guy in her life...

"Ok, now you're starting to worry me," Ichigo glanced up from his book and over at Rukia, who was standing above him with a frown and her eyebrows nit together, "Excuse me?" he muttered back, she glared, "You've been acting strangely ALL DAY, wat is WITH you hm?" "Nothing is 'with me' Rukia," he replied with a shrug, she rolled her eyes, "Ichigo aren't we past lieing?" that question sent chills down his spine, "Who said I was lieing?" "You are, obviously," he sighed and ran his fingers through his hair, "Alright.... it just sort of bothers me that's all," "Wat bothers you?" she asked, sitting on the edge of his bed, "The fact that you could beat up that guy so easily... more over... the fact that I wasn't doing a good enough job of defending you..." she smiled slightly at him, "Is that all?" she asked with a slight laugh, "Ichigo if it makes you feel any better it embarresses me that you have to stick up for me as much as you do," "But that's diffrent," "How? Because I'm a girl or because I'm YOUR girl?" he didn't give her an answer, she sighed and ran her fingers through his hair, "I get it, your pride is ouching, but if you hadn't let it swell in the first place it wouldn't be hurt over something so silly," she said, messing with his hair and leaving the room, he sighed, "Way to make me feel better Rukia..." he mumbled, she popped her head around the corner, "Oh and Ichigo?" "Yeah?" "I'll always be your girl, and I'll mae sure EVERYONE nos it," she giggled with a wink, he smiled, "But don't let your pride swell~!"
