B Side
Chapter One: Runs With Wolves

There are two sides to everything, a good to the bad, a light to the dark, and an A to the B, most people live on the A side of life, you're about to read about who lives on the B side

Rukia could feel her heart beating, thundering in her chest as she continued on with her jumping, up, down, up again, continuously on the trampolene, she exercised by doing jumps and tricks on the trampolene for an hour or so every day, her feet propelled her further upwards from the material of the trampolene and she flipped into the air once again, not noticing the eyes on her, a low growl escaped the throat of the animal in the bushes, staring at her, licking his lips, eyes unmoving, and then, the animal burst forward running and pouncing, about to land on top of the tiny woman .... when suddenly she spun around and slapped him in the face! Landing on his back, the jet black wolf sat up and shook his head, "Rukia!! What was that for!?" a young man grumbled as he shifted from wolf to human and reached down to pick up the pair of shorts he kept underneath the trampolene for times like this, sliding them on and walking towards her as she sat down on the edge of the trampolene and swung her legs back and forth, "Well it's your own fault, I mean you shouldn't have tried to jump me wile I was exercising," she mused, hopping down and walking over to the stereo on the picnic blanket by the trampolene and flipping it off, "I was just wanting to give you a little hug..." he muttered back, she snorted, "Yeah right, I have news for you, wolves don't hug all that easily," she replied with a smirk, he huffed, "I can't help it Rukia," he muttered as he rubbed his surely sore cheek, "Oh yes you can too help it," she replied, hopping off of the trampolene again and starting towards the house, Ichigo huffed and started to run after her, "Aw come on Rukia, you aren't mad at me are you?" "No~" "Then why are you running off?" "I have to go shower and change clothes, I'm going to meet Orihime," he sighed slightly, "Again?"

"So, what are you and Orihime going to do?" Ichigo asked as he took a drink of his coffee, Rukia shrugged as she slid on her shoes, "Going shopping, I have to pick up some things from the bookstore and Orihime wants a new dress for some party she's going to," she replied, "Oh," he replied with  a shrug, "Yeah... well... if that's it-" "Oh! Wait! Wile you're at the bookstore can you pick up a few things for me?" he asked excitedly, she sighed, "It depends, will it break my back trying to carry it?" she replied with a huff, he shook his head and handed her two peices of folded up papper, "I need these," he said, she sighed and put them in her purse, "Fine fine," "Are you going to the music store too?" she rubbed the back of her neck, "Well I wasn't going to..." "Oh come on, it's right next door and you know who's CD came out today?" "I can't imagine, just give me the title," she huffed, he nodded and set down his coffee cup, running to grab a pen and a post-it note from the drawers in the table beside him, she sighed and leaned against the kitchen counter, "Don't be like that Rukia, you and I like the same music, for the most part atleast, you'll like it I promsie," he said excitedly, "Mm-hm, just hurry so I won't be late," she replied, he noded and handed her the post it note, wich she then slid into her purse, "If that's it then I'll be off," "Alright, just remember, no mall food, that stuff is toxic," "I know, trust me after the last time I've learned my lesson," she replied with a slight laugh, "Good, glad to hear it," he replied with a bit of a smirk as she started towards the front door, "Oh... by the way Ichigo, what are you going to be doing today?" he shrugged, "Eh, probbably just gonna laze around, today is my day off after all," he replied, she nodded once, "Alright, I'll see you then," she said, waving to him and leaving the house, he sighed, "Couldn't even blow me a kiss..." he muttered

"Oooh these are SO cute!" Orihime cried as she stared at a pair of boots, "Orihime... it's the middle of MAY... you won't need boots for six months..." she mused with raised eyebrows, "Oh actually I'll be needing them soon, I'm going skiing up in the mountains for that party I told you about!" she said with a happy hum as she looked for her size, Rukia, who was bored to tears shopping for shoes and clothes, leaned back on the bench and smiled as she looked for something interesting to watch, there were so many people at the mall on Saturdays that it made people watching difficult since she could never keep her sights on one or two people at a time, but Saturdays were Orihime's only days off and the party Orihime was going to was NEXT Saturday so today was her only chance at shopping, "So this party, are you going to be there with your boyfreind?" she asked in a teasing tone, "Yes~~" "So when will I get to meet this guy? It's been what? A month?" "I know, I'm sorry Rukia, it's just that he's sooo busy since he's a doctor and all..." "Well you're busy too, I mean you're a nurse," "Yeah..." "I introduced you to Ichigo two YEARS ago," "Yeah but that's different! You two were freinds long before you became a couple!" she replied with a sigh as she started to try on the boots, Rukia shrugged, "All I'm saying is that if my best freind is this happy I deserve to meet the boy and see if he's any good, that's all," she replied with a shrug, "I know... I promise, I PROMISE I'll get him to meet you the week after next, ok?" she asked with a smile, Rukia nodded, "Deal, now if those boots fit I have to go pick up a CD for Ichigo," she said, Orihime smiled and nodded once, "Oh that works out, I'm actually picking one up too~"

"Are you SURE you have to go so soon?" Rukia asked with a pout as she adjusted the weight of her purse onto her other shoulder, "Yeah I do, Uryuu is waiting for me, we have plans to see a movie, but you can come too if you want," she offered, Rukia shook her head, "That's alright, you two have fun, Ichigo probbably wants dinner and he doesn't take well to having to cook for himself," she said with a laugh, they hugged quickly and Rukia waved to Orihime as the taller woman stepped off the porch and back to her car, Rukia, sighing the entire time, turned to the door, wich was opened on the inside immediatly, "Evening," Ichigo said with a smirk as the dogs started to bark and wail as she walked into the house, "Evening," she said with a smirk, watching him leap back all of a sudden as soon as she closed the door, "Um, what's the matter?" she asked with raised eyebrows, "You wreak," he replied simply, "WHAT?" she asked in offense, Ichigo usually LOVED her scent, even when she was sweating he'd always assure her that he didn't mind, "Something stinks, BADLY," he replied, she huffed, "And you think it's me?" "Not YOU, something you brought with you maybe, what did you buy anyway?" "Oh yes Ichigo, my books and your stupid CD are cause for a great pain of scent," she replied sarcastically, clearly offended, "Well.... wait...." he muttered, stepping closer and sniffing her, "You are bordering on my bad side," she grumbled, "I think it just got rubbed off on you from someone, just wash your clothes, take a bath, and then you'll probbably smell good again," she groaned but thought on that for a moment, "Well... Orihime DOES always wear really strong perfume..." she mused, pulling at the short sleeve of her dress and taking a wiff, she smelled fine in her opinion although she did admit that she faintly smelt Orihime's perfume, though to a werewolf like Ichigo it probbably stank to high heavens, she sighed, "I'll go take a bath..." she muttered as she stomped upstairs

Rukia sighed lightly as she ran the water into the bath tub and started to undress, "I wonder why Ichigo has never had a problum with Orihime's perfume before..." she mused quietly, folding her dress over her underwear and wrapping a towel around her body as she darted out of the bathroom to put her clothes in the hamper, 'I've been freinds with Orihime for years ... long before I ever met Ichigo, he had never had a problum with it before,' she mused as she walked back and took a hair clip out of the drawer of the bathroom counter, "Orihime could've changed perfumes... she does do that alot," she mused to herself, clipping her hair into a french twist and then turning to her jewlry, she slid off her necklace and put it in her jewlry box, then glanced at the moonstone engagement ring Ichigo had given her, she always hated having to part with it but she hated to get it wet too, so she slid it off of her finger and set it inside the small plastic cauldren on the counter by her jewlry box, that was where she and Ichigo put their jewlry whenever they were taking a shower or bath or when they were trying to set some peice of jewlry aside for something, it was from last year's Halloween party and the cauldrens had once had candy in them, she finally stepped into the tub and shivered slightly as the hot water engulfed her foot, 'It's funny that we're engaged now.... it feels like I only met Ichigo just yesterday...' she mused with a small smile

"What am I going to do?" Rukia muttered with a sigh, rubbing her temples, the local pet supply store was having Adoption Day, just like every Saturday, where they'd bring animals from some of the local shelters in with the hopes of people stopping by or people who were already there to consider adopting another pet, it was especially helpfull when the shelters were doing any kind of renivations and when the store was trying to make certain sales, they could advertise "Fifty percent off __ with every adoption!" and things like that, admittedly, and Rukia hated to admit it, she got caught EVERY TIME... she made a point in only going to this paticular pet store because it only sold pet supplies, fish, and a few rodents and birds, being partnered with shelters to help homeless animals find homes instead of profitting off of animals from breeders, there was that... and also the fact that that way Rukia wouldn't get caught by the eyes of an adorable puppy or kitten who wants a home like she would in any other shop, sickeningly enough though every Adoption Saturday that Rukia had the misfourtane of being there she found herself walking away with adoption pappers in her purse and something licking her face... wich is why she made a point to only go there on weekdays... except for today, today was an exception, today she PLANNED to be pulled in by wimpering, big eyes, and soft fur, because today she was going to charge straight into the depths of an animal lover's hell with the plans of adopting a kitten, the reason for this is simple, to avoid animals feeling excluded in her home Rukia tries to keep the number even, but... being that she had rescued a stray kitten from the street about two weeks ago that plan sort of failed... she normally wouldn't be one of those people who got another pet just to even things out, but the kitten at home wasn't getting along at all with her other cats and needed a freind so not to develop a mental disorder, thus here she was, sitting on the floor in the middle of a ring of kittens, two of wich were currently purring and rubbing against her, this was not good... she looked up, trying to spot any help that could arise, when she saw a young man with bright orange hair and a bag with a fish in his hand, "H-Hey!" she shouted, drawing his attention successfully, "Um, can you help me?" she asked, he raised his eyebrows, "Er... I don't work here..." "I know, I want your opinion on something," she replied, he scratched the back of his head with his free hand and walked closer to the pin of cats and people she was in, "Sure.... what do you need?" he asked curiously, she took in a breath, "Well, I have quite a few pets, dogs, cats, ferrets... I recently got a kitten off of the streets but she isn't getting along at all with my other cats, or any of my pets for that matter, so I came to get her a freind," "Alright, what's the problum?" "Well," she said with a sigh, "I've decided on the cat I want but according to one of the people I spoke to about adopting him she has a brother here, I don't want to just take her away from his family, that'd be cruel, but if I take both kittens then I'm back at square one with having no freind for the lonely kitten..." he nodded slowly, "Well... being that I'm quite an animal person myself, I'd say if you can reasonably afford both time and money wise to keep both kittens, take both kittens, I know how it is to have your heart set on one specific animal, it isn't like you can so easily just decide on another one," he said with a shrug, "I mean, adopting a pet is alot like adopting a child," he mused, she sighed lightly, "EXACTLY.... so what do I do about my lonely kitten?" "The three of them will get along, it'd be just like introducing one new kitten as a freind, either it'll take or it won't, just because they're siblings doesn't mean they'll stick together like glue, one may get along with the other kitten, one may get along with one of your ferrets, there's no telling," he replied, she smiled and picked up both little cats, standing up and walking towards him, "Thanks, I'd buy you lunch for the help but... I have to introduce them to their new home and you have a fish..." he chuckled, "Rain check then, you owe me," he said with a smirk she nodded once, "Fair enough," she replied with a smile, "Maybe instead of lunch we can do dinner," he offered, she nodded once, "Deal, I'll meet you here in six hours?" "Deal,"

"Well, how do I smell?" Rukia asked as she walked down the stairs and into the kitchen, Ichigo paused in his cooking and bent down, sniffing her neck, "Much better," he replied, she rolled her eyes, wondering momentairily what set him off, she leaned over his shoulder and tilted her head, "What are you making?" "You'll see," he chuckled, she smiled lightly and wrapped her arms around his neck, "What's this about?" he asked, she shrugged, "I'm just.... glad that everything worked out, that's all, that's all," "Me too, I don't know what would've happened if you had freaked out over the hole werewolf, mating thing..." "Yeah..." she muttered quietly, looking down when she felt something rub against her leg and sighing at her ferret, "Someone is always in need of attention," she muttered as she reached down to pick him up, "Makes me wonder what's going to happen when we get married and start trying to get some babies..." she huffed and slapped him on the shoulder, "Quit that," he chuckled, "I'm just sayin' it'll be pretty tough to get a little time alone with ferrets crawling all over us, dogs clawing at the bed and cats meowing into the wind... it'll be our luck that even the fish will get in on it somehow..." "You know there's a door for a reason Ichigo," "Oh please! Then we'll have to listen to howling and screeching and clawing...." "Don't worry about it, I'm sure they'll be good," he sighed lightly and leaned against the counter, "I'm just glad that theory about cats and ferrets sucking out the souls of babies isn't true or our kids would be in trouble...."
