All Fall Down
Act Four: Check It Twice
Uryuu sighed and glared at the round, red, orb in front of him, his arm jerked and the stick powerfully struck the ball, sending it flying forward and hitting three more, making them all fall into the pockets of the pool table, it was his addiction, pool, he was good at it but that wasn't why he played, he played to think, it was common for detectives to have one outlet that helped them think, in fact, one of his freinds from another department tap dances... "Detective Ishida!" his attention jerked back to reality and he turned around to see a dripping wet Rukia Kuchiki run towards him, "Ms. Kuchiki?" he asked, "I think I have an idea on how to make some progress in this case," she said with a smile, Ichigo right behind her trying to towel her off and muttering about how irresponsable it was to go runing dripping wet through a hotel, especially in Febuarary when she could catch a draft and freeze, "Oh?" he replied, "Do you have a list of people who are at this hotel because of the letter?" "No, sorry, only the ones who have come forward about it, why do you ask?" "Well, we were going to take a look and see if there was a name that everyone reckognized," she replied, "But if there isn't a list-" "Wait," he said, a sudden thought occuring to him, "I don't have a list.... but I think I have something else that could help,"

"I received this the day before the first murder occured," Uryuu stated, handing Rukia a large enveloped, "I also received a letter but that's in evedence, these I'm still not sure what to do with," he said as she opened it and looked inside to see the piles of photos, she nodded once, "Ichigo, let's see if we reckognize anyone as having a problum with," she suggested as they walked into the detective's hotel room, "Uh, hello?" Renji coughed from behind them, "I could help too you know," he said with a huff, "Good point, maybe you sho-" "Rukia!!" she turned and saw Orihime running towards her, "Hi! What are you up to?" she asked chiperly, Uryuu frowned and crossed his arms over his chest, "The more people we have helping the more likely we'll hit on something," Ichigo said, "I'm not even supposed to let any of you see those photos..." he huffed, "Don't be so stupid, you'll be watching us so it won't be like we'll be able to botch anything," he replied as Rukia explained things to Orihime

"ANYTHING?" Uryuu asked hopefully, Rukia shook her head, "No, I don't reckognize anyone here other than those I have already pointed out to you," she replied with a soft sigh, "Me too," Ichigo replied, "Same with me," Renji said, "And me..." Orihime muttered quietly, Uryuu nodded slowly, "Well, thank you anyway, I-" "KYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" the small group of five turned around quickly and started rushing out of the room and towards the elevator to get downstairs, to the source of the loud noise

"Detective! Detective Ishida do you have any information yet?!" Uryuu turned around and glared at the reporter standing in front of him, "Does it LOOK like I have any information yet?" he snapped, huffing and glaring down at the dead body of an old billionaire in front of him, things were getting worse and worse... "There is ONE good thing about this," Renji said suddenly, drawing the attention of the people around him, "And that would be?" Uryuu asked with a raised eyebrow, "Yeah, it means the five of us were all TOGETHER during this murder, you yourself said the time of death couldn't have been more than five minutes ago Detective," he said, "H-He's right! Renji you're right!" Orihime exclaimed, "That puts us five in the clear, and Rukia, you and I have allibies for all three murders," he said with a smile, but she didn't smile back, "Don't get yourselves so high on the hog yet.... it's still highly possible that more than one person is doing this, in wich case-" "Are you accusing one of us?" Ichigo asked, "No, I'm just saying not to count your chickens before they hatch, don't feel completly safe," she warned, "Miss Kuchiki has a magnificent point, however the fact that you four have an allibi DOES put you at the bottum of the priority list, especially considering you had no communication with anyone for over two hours before the crime," he said, the reporter turning to Rukia and crouching down to her level with a microphone, "Brilliant deduction Miss Rukia! Smart AND beautifull AND talented! Have you any other information that could help!? Any theories?" "Bite me Shuhei!" she snapped back, he rose to his feet, "Oh I'd love to," he chuckled, Ichigo growled and took her arm, "Nice try, no go," he replied, Shuhei blinked and started to walk away from the scene with the small group of four, "Are you two a couple!? Miss Rukia did you find yourself a man and not tell me!? I thought we were closer than that!" he cried, "We aren't a couple, and even if we were I wouldn't tell you because I'm a little busy trying to stay alive right now, plus, your schmoozing is on my last, frayed, nerve," she replied tiredly, "You know this reporter-wannabe?" Renji asked with a raised, tattooed eyebrow,  "Yeah, sort of... he lives in the apartment building next to my house and stalks me..." she replied, "Miss Rukia you're making me sound like a loon!" "And you're not? And how many times have I told you not to address me like that?" "It's my job to report on celebrities," he said, trying to clairify that he wasn't a stalker, "And you do that by being overly polite and brown nosing," she said, "Wait a minute... Shuhei Hisagi right?" Orihime asked, he nodded once, "Oooh! You were the first one to report that break up between Yoko Okino and her boyfreind weren't you!?" "That's me!" Rukia paused, "Wait a minute...." she muttered, "I think Shuhei had a picture in that envelope," she muttered, "What envelope?" Shuhei replied, "Are you sure Rukia?" Ichigo asked, she nodded slowly, "Yeah... yeah I'm pretty sure, I remember how surprised I was to see his photo there since he isn't a celebrity..." she muttered as they walked into the elevator, "If that's so, then there's even more reason for us to stick together, right?" Renji asked, "No I don't think that's what's she pointing out, I think it means that if they're going after tabloid trash too then there's more at work here than we first thought," Ichigo clairified

"My room is this way," Orihime said as they got out of the elevator, pointing to a seperate hall, Rukia nodded slowly, "Alright then, see you later Orihime," Orihime waved and Renji put his arm around her shoulders, "My room is that way too, I'll walk you there," he offered, "And my room is that way," Shuhei stated, pointing in an opposite direction, Rukia gave a short wave and started walking down the hall with Ichigo at her side, "Why are there all these envelopes at everyone's doors?" Ichigo muttered as they walked, "I don't know.... but I'm not sure if I want to find out," she muttered, stopping at her own door and finding an envelope there as well, "I have one too," Ichigo said, gesturing to his room, chills went up and down her spine and she hesitated to pick it up, "Let's open them in my room," Ichigo suggested, picking up his envelope, she paused, wrapping her arms around her chest, "Rukia," he said quietly, she slowly opened her room's door, "I'm getting Kyoko," she wispered

"Alright, who goes first?" Rukia asked quietly, "Let's do it together," Ichigo replied, they both opened up their envelopes and glanced at the contents, in Rukia's was a photo of herself with the word "MURDERER" smeared in red ink all over the front, on the back were the words "You will atone for your sins", Ichigo's was nearly the same, only that it was a picture of him that held that writing, "Well?" Rukia wispered, Ichigo handed her his photo and she handed him her's back, "These.... these are the same," she muttered quietly, "Yeah... do you think they're all the same?" "No, they aren't, they're all diffrent," "How do you know?" "The pictures are diffrent," "Well ofcourse, why would he send me YOUR-" "I mean... remember the envelope Detective Ishida showed us? These pictures are diffrent from the ones in that envelope, now if they were all going to say the same thing why bother getting diffrent pictures?" "You have a point," he muttered back to her

"Stop!!! Stop!!! What are you doing!? Put that down! I helped you and this is how you repay me!? I HELPED YOU!"
